20.91 Tons of Custom SPA-H Corten Steel Edging Exported to France

Gnee recently completed a 20.91-ton SPA-H Corten Steel Raised Garden Bed component order for France, supplying 17,800 customized steel parts in three specifications. The shipment included top-bent Corten steel planter edging strips and 45° pointed components for garden bed and landscape border systems.

The project required precision cutting, bending, dimensional inspection, surface protection, and export packaging. All components were supplied without pre-rusting treatment, allowing the customer to use the natural weathering steel surface.

SPA-H Corten Steel Raised Garden Bed Project Specifications

Unlike fully assembled Corten Steel Planter Boxes, this order consisted of fabricated components that can be integrated into customized garden bed structures according to installation drawings.

Two specifications required top-edge bending, while the third consisted of shorter 45° pointed components.

The component widths of 113 mm and 213 mm are nominal fabrication dimensions rather than confirmed assembled planter heights.

The certificate also records copper at 0.26%, chromium at 0.31–0.33%, and phosphorus at 0.076–0.084%. These are measured raw-material values, not estimated nominal compositions.

Custom Fabrication of Corten Steel Raised Garden Edging

Gnee coordinated customized fabrication for the French order, including two top-bent edging profiles and a separate 45° pointed component design.

The processing requirements were defined by component geometry, thickness, length, quantity, and the customer’s surface quality specifications.

CNC Cutting for Corten Steel Planter Components

The first stage involves preparing SPA-H material to the specified sizes. Straight components can be processed using CNC shearing equipment, while fiber laser cutting can be selected for customized outlines and angled profiles.

For the French order, cutting dimensions were required to be confirmed with photographs before proceeding with batch production.

Top-Edge Bending for Corten Steel Raised Garden Beds

A key feature of this order was the top-bent design applied to the 1.5 × 113 × 2000 mm and 1.5 × 213 × 2000 mm components.

Top-edge bending can improve the finished edge geometry and contribute to profile stiffness, depending on the bending radius and section design. CNC press brake equipment can produce consistent bends along the full 2,000 mm component length.

During fabrication, key control points include bending position, angle, inside radius, profile straightness, and dimensional consistency.

45° Pointed Components for Corten Steel Garden Bed Systems

The order also included 12,000 pieces of 2.0 × 40 × 289 mm SPA-H components with 45° pointed ends.

For large-volume pointed components, manufacturing control focuses on consistent angled geometry, uniform dimensions, clean cutting edges, and safe handling.

These components can be incorporated into an edging installation system according to the customer’s connection design.

Surface Finishing for Custom Corten Steel Planters

For this project, the customer requested the SPA-H components without pre-weathering treatment.

The fabrication agreement required components to be free from visible rust, scratches, burrs, and impact damage. Consequently, surface protection was important during cutting, bending, storage, and transportation.

Quality Inspection of SPA-H Corten Steel Garden Bed Components

The French project was supported by original SPA-H raw-material certification and a finished-product inspection report dated September 30, 2026.

The material documentation provided chemical composition and mechanical performance data, while the finished-product inspection covered dimensions, surface condition, and packaging.

The inspection report concluded that the components were delivered according to the required specifications, with dimensional and product photographs provided to the customer.

Export Packaging for Corten Steel Raised Garden Bed Components

For this 17,800-piece order, Gnee coordinated protective packaging using cardboard cartons and pallets. The fabrication contract required packaging suitable for transportation loads and cooperation with customer-arranged third-party inspection.
